The University of Zakho has qualified for the semifinals in the first-ever University Debate Championship held in Kurdistan and Iraq. The event is organized by the International Academy for Leadership and Development in collaboration with the Rwanga Organization and the University of Kurdistan in Erbil.

The university’s team, along with teams from Cihan University, Charmo University, and the American University of Duhok, made it to the semifinals out of 17 universities that participated in the competition. The semifinals will be held in Erbil to secure a top position and qualify for the International University Debate Championship, which will take place in Qatar.

The International University Debate Championship holds a prestigious position that aims to bring together students from different countries to stimulate intellectual creativity, encourage persuasive dialogue based on reasoning and logic, enhance their language skills, exchange diverse viewpoints, and foster a competitive spirit among them.
